That being said, make music that make you happy and forget who's got the best DAW. It doesn't matter if you have the best DAW, if your a shit producer then the best software isn't going to help you, it'll just make you suck better. Anyway, just use what your'e comfortable with. What are we to do if suddenly there is no more vsti because steinberg went under. You also have to think, if version 5 works the best then why upgrade or buy something else, steinberg has to keep you spending money or else they will go bankrupt. In this day in age software developers are trying to implement something new when the old wasnt broken to begin with.
Ive been using cubase for quite a while now, and to tell you the truth the cracked version 5 works better than legit 6, i like the channel strip but not when the program hangs suddenly, but i never had that problem with 5, and yeah 6 & 7 may be better but stability has my vote everytime.
